ASAP Rocky VLONE Brand Launch: ASAP Rocky and ASAP Bari Launch Highly Anticipated Clothing Line, VLONE.

The long awaited launch of the collaboration from ASAP Rocky and ASAP Bari, VLONE recently arrived. The duo originally debuted the collection during Paris Fashion Week, in the form of a pop-up that sold out within hours. Their runway presentation took place in the U.S. in a spacious, heavily graffitied warehouse. Skate ramps occupied the space.

The presentation featured 15 runway looks from the contemporary menswear label. The label spoke directly to the skate and street crowd of New York and LA: the cult followings of the Supreme skate collections, the sneakerheads and the collab junkies. In synchronization with the presentation, VLONE launched an L.A. pop up shop for the merchandise, which too sold out in minimal time.

True to the effortless style of both ASAP Rocky and ASAP Bari, the collection exceeded expectations, with camo-printed garments, logo focused pieces, restyled prison jumpsuits and flame detailing. VLONE embraces and emanates the underground street culture and individual style that is heavily celebrated and practiced by both designers.

Stand out pieces included camo-printed tees with bold orange block letters spelling FRIENDS- sprawled across the front, mixed print shorts, logo-driven sweatpants, as well as simplistic hoodies. The staple VLONE hoodies and tees, FRIENDS- collection, as well as skateboards are currently available online for purchase.

VLONE’s brand debut further solidified the current shift and momentum, taking place in fashion. It was Versace who first initiated the merging between the fashion industry and music industry by dressing the artists for heavily publicized events. The current situation however is that artists are no longer being dressed as walking marketing campaigns, but now collaborating and designing the garments that they are wearing. As seen with A$AP Rocky’s persuasive influence in fashion and success in collaborations, along with the likes of Kanye West, Drake and Rihanna, it is apparent that fashion has officially met music.
