Coach Fall Winter 16 Fashion Campaign: Empire State of Mind

Coach Releases its Fall Winter 2016 Fashion Campaign Set Against the Backdrop of New York City. Photography by Steven Meisel.

American luxury brand Coach has been busy finding ways to reach its shifting global audience. The brand’s Fall 2016 campaign offers glimpses of this new aesthetic, one that introduces a new era of Coach. In recent years, the retailer has expanded its product offerings from just affordable high-end accessories to a complete lifestyle brand. As the brand continues to work out the fine details, the future is become more promising than ever. With increasing retail sales and growing popularity amongst millennials, perhaps the global brand has finally bridged the gap.

Photographed by Steven Meisel, the Coach Fall 2016 campaign opens with a broad scan of New York city buildings and architecture. The scene thens swiftly transitions to a backdrop filled with models against the concrete landscape. The fresh face cast includes Rianne van Rompaey, Caitie Greene, Janiece Dilone, Sandra Schmidt, Jing Wen and Finnlay Davis. Bohemian vibes abound as the models lounge and serve serious New York vibes.

New York is the home of American sportswear and the brand’s latest campaign is filled with this attitude. Alongside traditional sportswear, the Fall 2016 collection incorporates Western influences and vintage flair. Classic pieces like oversized varsity jackets and cowboy boots are reinterpreted with added embellishments and silhouettes. We also notice the absence of the brand’s signature monogramming, a usual staple on handbags and accessories. This is a major sign of progress for the transforming brand, but the true test will depend solely on the evolving minds of the consumers.
